Inspiring Impact is on a mission to make good impact practice the norm by creating a culture of continuous improvement among voluntary organisations.
We are lead partner on Inspiring Impact, a programme that is on a mission to make good impact practice the norm by creating a culture of continuous improvement among voluntary organisations.
Founded in 2012, thousands of charities and social enterprises have used our free online resources, learning events and grant funding to improve how they plan, deliver, assess and review their services.
Impact support for charities
2018 marked a new chapter of the programme as we combined Inspiring Impact and the Impact Management Programme under one programme.
Inspiring Impact aims to help more charities and social enterprises across the UK to access free support, including:
- Online tools like Measuring Up! and the Data Diagnostic
- Face-to-face peer learning events in 5 regions of England and multiple cities in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
- Online resources, and case studies
- The ‘Impact Champions’ scheme for organisations who promote Inspiring Impact to their networks and members
- Grant funding for charities and social enterprises to support an impact practice project of their choice
All our activities are designed with charity and social enterprise staff, and we regularly review what’s working and what we could improve.

Inspiring Impact partners and funders
This work builds on our 15 years’ experience in the sector and draws on the skills, experience and networks of our partners. Current partners (2018-21) include Community Evaluation Northern Ireland (CENI), Evaluation Support Scotland (ESS), NCVO Charities Evaluation Service (NCVO CES), Social Value UK (SVUK) and Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA).
Previous partners and ongoing supporters of Inspiring Impact (2012-2018) and the Impact Management Programme (2016-2018) include ACEVO, Access – The Foundation for Social Investment, Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF), Big Society Capital, Hactar, Impetus-PEF, Social Enterprise UK (SEUK), Social Investment Business (SIB), Substance and the Young Foundation.
The 2018-2021 phase of the programme is funded by Big Lottery Fund and City Bridge Trust and our independent Chair is Sally Higham, Founder and CEO of RunAClub.
