Elise Karam
Elise is our Head of Philanthropy and is responsible for fostering and growing the Supporters’ Circle, as well as supporting colleagues across NPC to secure funding for specific projects which help maximise the impact of the social sector.
Before joining NPC, Elise led the highly successful Major Gifts programme at The Outward Bound Trust, an outdoor education charity, raising funds, often via very special events, to enable life-changing adventure in some of the UK’s wildest settings for 25,000 young people annually. She also led the Key Relationships team at the animal welfare and conservation campaigning charity, League Against Cruel Sports after a career in political communications consultancy. Elise is passionate about community building and promoting dialogue, with a special interest in NPC’s My Best Life and Open Philanthropy programmes.
She has a Political Science degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and a Masters in Comparative Ethnic Conflict from Queen’s University Belfast.
Outside of NPC, Elise can most often be found in the outdoors – hiking, horseback riding, or just pottering around the garden.
