Since joining over a decade ago, Iona has researched a myriad of topics for NPC, analysed over 50 charities, and helped develop our services for charities.
Iona advises charities and funders on improving their impact. She leads NPC’s work on strategy, has produced guidance for both charities and funders on social investment, and takes a particular interest in charity governance through her involvement in our seminars for trustees. Her clients include the Clothworkers’ Foundation, Scope and East London Business Alliance, among others. Iona also runs NPC’s training courses on charity strategy, social investment and strategic analysis for funders and charities.
Iona is a regular commentator on issues facing the sector and has appeared on BBC Television News and Radio 4, and written for The Guardian and CityAM. One charity chair said recently: ‘conference attendees found your practical advice on measurement very helpful and unintimidating’.
Iona joined NPC after a career in finance, including with the then Commonwealth Development Corporation and as a merchant banker. She is a trustee of London Wildlife Trust.
Why I work at NPC
Getting to grips with the challenges faced by chief executives, and helping them find solutions, is fascinating and satisfying. I love the passion you sense when you visit charities.
