Breast Cancer Now
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, created by the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
They contacted NPC to help improve their Service Pledge programme. The programme works in partnership with hospitals and patients to improve the quality of care that breast cancer patients receive, striving for a holistic, patient centred experience.
NPC worked with Breast Cancer Now’s health advocacy team on developing a theory of change and measurement framework for the Service Pledge.
We worked with Breast Cancer Now to segment their Service Pledge activities into three distinct phases: hospital engagement, pledge delivery and hospital implementation. We also worked with them to simplify and improve their data collection for each of these phases.
As a result of this work, they have taken a different approach to contacting their users and in the way they collect data. They now think about evaluation as an integral part of the programme planning and delivery.
