The role of impact investing in philanthropy
About this event
This free event has already happened. You can watch the full video below:
Join us to discuss the opportunities and challenges of considering innovative finance modes as part of a traditional philanthropy portfolio.
There is a growing recognition amongst philanthropists and foundations around the world that impact investing can bring about impact in areas they care about. Whether these investments are made to align with grant-making programmes or are made as a separate allocation from a foundation’s endowment, they pave the way for philanthropists to support innovative and sustainable approaches to achieve impact in line with their charitable aims. Much like other aspects of effective philanthropy, the journey to integrate impact investing in philanthropy requires a deep understanding of the landscape alongside an appetite for taking measured risk to catalyse meaningful impact.
At this event you will learn more about:
- Impact investing and how it is an innovative approach for funders to bring about impact
- Different pathways for foundations and philanthropists to engage in it
- The experiences of other foundations who have been on this journey.
At this free online event you will hear from Gurmeet Kaur, NPC’s Principal for Impact Investing, Paul Gunstensen, Director of WASH at Stone Family Foundation and Gail Cunningham, Head of the Investment Learning Programme at Association of Charitable Foundations, followed by Q&A where you can put your questions to our speakers. This event is for you if you are a funder, philanthropist, foundation or a charity considering using all your assets for enhancing your impact.
