About this event

It is not uncommon to do quantitative research but struggle to know what the figures mean. For example, eighty percent of people said the information you sent them was useful. Is this good? Should you aim higher? The solution is to compare the results to something else; either data you collected before (baselining) or data from other examples or sources (benchmarking). Comparison is also one of our most powerful tools for impact measurement. If we study how impact varies for different types of users and situations it might tell us a lot about what is really going on.

The seminar, a rerun of a 2016 event, will explore:

  • Different options for baselining and benchmarking. How to go about it and sources to use.
  • How comparative analysis can help us understand impact.
  • How organisations have approached it and the challenges and benefits they experience.
