Harassment, sexual harassment and bullying policy
Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect at work. This principle underpins NPC’s values, code of conduct and our commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion as well as this policy. Everyone plays a part and is responsible for upholding this principle and should challenge inappropriate behaviour. This includes trustees, staff, associates and other stakeholders—internal and external.
Harassment, sexual harassment, bullying and victimisation are unacceptable and taken very seriously at NPC. This is because any incident could adversely affect individual health and well-being as well as confidence and performance at work and job satisfaction. Also, there are potential legal implications for individuals and for NPC. NPC’s organisational culture, policies and procedures, training and reporting channels seek to prevent harassment, sexual harassment, bullying and victimisation in the workplace.
All allegations of harassment, sexual harassment, bullying and victimisation in the workplace will be investigated in a timely and confidential manner. Disciplinary action will be taken where appropriate. If the perpetrator is not a staff member, we will take whatever steps are reasonably practicable to support and protect the individual.
