Ben Robinson

Ben is Associate Director for Policy and Public Affairs at NPC. His work focuses on strengthening the role of philanthropy in addressing social challenges and supporting collaboration between funders, government and civil society. He has also recently advised government on the design and delivery of philanthropic match-funding programmes.

Before joining NPC, Ben was interim Co-CEO and Deputy CEO at UK Community Foundations, the national membership body for 47 community foundations. During this time he led major national grant programmes, including the network’s £80m COVID response fund, and worked with philanthropists, foundations and government to grow place-based giving.

Earlier in his career Ben held policy and leadership roles across civil society and government, including at Community Links, a community anchor organisation in East London, the Early Action Funders Alliance, the New Economics Foundation, a local authority and the Cabinet Office. He is particularly interested in how philanthropy is evolving and the role it can play alongside public systems in responding to complex social challenges and supporting more ambitious, systems-level change.
