Cath Dovey
Cath is NPC’s special adviser on philanthropy with expertise in giving strategies and the impact ecosystem. Prior to merging with NPC, Cath co-founded the Beacon Collaborative and was its executive trustee coordinating 25 multi-stakeholder infrastructure development projects aimed at growing philanthropy in the UK, working with leading sector and arm’s length bodies, trusts and foundations, philanthropists and family donors, academic institutions, government and policymakers, regulators and financial services sector leads.
Cath chairs the UK’s National Strategy Working Group for Philanthropy and Charitable Giving, a coalition of 23 philanthropy organisations supported by the Philanthropists Reference Group of major UK and international private donors. She was a working group member of HM Treasury’s Social Impact Investment Advisory Group and supported the Department for Culture, Media and Sport on its place-based philanthropy plan, “Our Place to Give”.
Cath has two decades of experience in international strategy consulting as founder of a firm that worked with more than 300 financial services organisations across 45 countries covering governance, leadership and management, strategy and business planning, finance and investment strategy, business and proposition development, organisational design, change and project management, strategic marketing, trend analysis and forecasting, and thought leadership. She was awarded a CBE in 2024 for her services to philanthropy, the arts, women and girls, and the economy.
