JR May
JR has a diverse background in finance, investment, management, marketing, communications and entertainment. He has over twenty-five years’ experience working internationally, with a strong focus on strategic development, brand creation and financial analysis. His work has included leading on high-profile projects, advising C-suite executives, investors and policymakers and driving growth across various industries. He has a particular interest in international diplomacy and is also a multi-stage investor and global policy and strategy advisor working with startups, VC and PE across the globe. He also has experience in financing, producing and directing TV and film, and continues to work on UK and international projects.
Whilst JR is half British and half Malaysian, he was born in the US and has spent time living in Washington DC, London, Dubai, Los Angeles, Penang and Saint-Tropez. Alongside his role at NPC, he is a Trustee of the Museum of Richmond, an Executive Committee Member of the British Malaysian Society and a Founding Committee Member of the UK Malaysian Film Festival. He joined NPC’s board in order to support the charity through leveraging this broad, multinational expertise in governance and consultancy alongside his wide network of global contacts.
