Polly Maton
Polly Maton is a Community Organisation Lead at Disability Rights UK and is part of the delivery team for Everyone’s Environment Local & Voices.
Polly is a recent graduate of Columbia University, City of New York, where she completed a Masters in Human Rights, specialising in the study of the Disability Rights Movement and intersectional praxis. Polly also has an undergraduate degree in History and Politics from the University of Oxford. She hopes to bring her learnings, particularly in terms of intersectionality and cross movement analysis, into all her work at Everyone’s Environment.
Her previous experience with community engagement has come in various forms from involvement and activism in student government to charities including InvisiYouth and Human Rights Educators USA. These opportunities have provided a pertinent multifaceted outlook to interacting and galvanising diverse groups.
Polly is also a two-time Paralympian and World Silver medallist (2017, T47 Women’s Long Jump). The Paralympic movement has inspired her both in terms of the power of Disabled community building but also in the impact national and international movements can have.
