The Code of Good Governance: How to put it into practice
Home » Resource hub »
This briefing paper outlines the advice and recommendations from the panel at NPC’s Clothworkers’ seminar on how charity trustees can put the Charity Governance Code into practice.
The Charity Governance Code is a statement of best practice. It was originally created in 2005 by a steering group of organisations working in the charity sector.
The third iteration of the Charity Governance Code was released in July 2017, after consultation with over 200 individuals and organisations, to include updated thinking on governance and promote discussion about the standard of governance in the charity sector.
It is a tool for continuous improvement not perfection; it is deliberately aspirational.
