The code of good impact practice

The code of good impact practice sets out eight high level principles for charities and social enterprises to follow. Each principle includes a brief description of how your impact practice would look if you were applying the principle, an explanation of why it is important, and some ideas about how to implement it.

The code of good impact practice was developed after a sector-wide public consultation and with input from a working group of 17 organisations, as part of the Inspiring Impact programme.

Funder principles and drivers of good impact practice

Funders have a critical role to play in shaping impact practice among their grantees and investees. This framework encourages good impact practice and offers practical guidance on promoting good impact practice with the organisations and people they support.

This document was informed by the Funders for Impact Working Group, which was facilitated by the Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF) and part of the Inspiring Impact programme. It is intended to help funders think about their impact, and how they can support the people and organisations they fund to do so too.
