About this essay collection
Momentum is building across the impact economy like never before. With the launch of the Office for the Impact Economy and the Collective’s Policy Labs, government, business, and civil society are aligning in new and consequential ways. Launched at the House of Lords on 2 December and hosted by Baroness Young of Old Scone, this essay collection—curated by NPC—captures that moment of energy and possibility, bringing together leading voices from across the movement to show how shared ambition can unlock capital, renew communities, and drive meaningful change nationwide.
This collection forms part of Impact UK: The size and story of the impact economy, generously supported by Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Lloyds Bank Foundation, Mishcon de Reya and Better Society Capital. The wider project seeks to illuminate the scale, character, and potential of a sector that is rapidly reshaping how the UK delivers social, environmental, and economic progress.
