NPC Ignites: People, Impact, Purpose
2 April 2019
As the sun is welcomed back into our lives like an absent friend, and spring seems to have well and truly sprung, I suspect there are not many people who would admit to looking forward to October.
But I am.
Not because I prefer colder weather, or I am hoping Brexit will be sorted by then (not much cause for optimism there), but because October is the ninth NPC Ignites—our annual conference.
Nobody knows what the world will look like and how the social sector will be doing by the time I (hope to) see you at the conference. But that’s the one good thing about times of uncertainty like we’re going through now—they can clarify what really matters to us.
That’s why we recently launched a new strategy, and why we’ve put people, impact and purpose at the heart of this year’s conference. They are the fundamentals, the things we all need to support, protect, and celebrate in the face of whatever is to come.
How we do it is up to us, and Ignites is the place to come together and figure it out. We talk about what individuals and organisations can do to be better, whether that’s measuring their impact for the first time or exploring collaboration in the place where they work. And we also hear about and discuss how we as a sector can face the challenges of our time.
You’ll get insights from NPC’s CEO, Dan Corry, and our other experts, on innovative responses to the challenges the social sector faces and how we can maximise impact for the people most in need. We’ll be discussing the promising approaches that the sector can take to meaningfully tackle its problems, like place-based work, systems change, user involvement, and digital. And of course, you’ll get the chance to network with colleagues and make new friends in the sector.
We already have some great speakers lined up, like Mike Adamson, Chief Executive of the British Red Cross, Michelle Mitchell, Chief Executive of Cancer Research UK and Fozia Irfan, Chief Executive of the Bedfordshire & Luton Community Foundation.
Look out for the full programme in due course, but if you sign up now you can take advantage of our super early bird rates.
A lot may be uncertain at the moment but, as we approach 10 years of conferences, NPC Ignites is an event you can rely on.
‘Whole conference was superb…My first NPC conference and will definitely recommend!’
