Evaluating systems change

About this event

Organisations are increasingly trying to have an impact through changing systems, not just delivering services. But how do you go about evaluating that systems change?

In this session we will cover topics including:

  • An explanation of what systems change evaluation actually is. How does it differ from normal evaluation?
  • Guidance on the mindset that you need to approach evaluating in a complex system, compared to a linear one.
  • Practical frameworks, tips and questions you can use in your own work to shape evaluations.
  • Example evaluation questions for understanding different aspects of the system and your influence on it.
  • Suggested approaches, methodologies and tools that are suitable for complexity.

This session is for anyone wanting to understand and evaluate how their work contributes to lasting change within complex systems, and is especially suited to those newer to this space, with a focus on demystifying technical concepts and making them accessible in practice.

Bursary spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. Email us to apply for our bursary places.

We are also actively working to improve the accessibility of our online and in-person events.
