Kaan Yilmazturk
Kaan Yilmazturk is a Senior Consultant at NPC, where he helps foundations, philanthropists, impact investors, and place-based funders use evidence, data, and stakeholder insight to make better funding decisions and achieve greater social impact. His work sits at the intersection of philanthropy, strategy, and learning.
Kaan has supported major funders including the MacArthur Foundation, helping evaluate and generate learning from the Catalytic Capital Consortium, a global initiative designed to expand the use of catalytic capital and grow the social investing field. He has also led and contributed to a range of funding landscape reviews, systems mapping exercises, strategy processes, and theories of change across the UK and internationally. These include mapping the ecosystem supporting boys and young men for Movember, analysing the social cohesion field for This Day Foundation, and leading a major review of the support available in the criminal justice voluntary sector to inform funders’ long-term strategic direction. These projects have combined large-scale data analysis with deep engagement of funders, charities, researchers, and people with lived experience to identify gaps, opportunities, and priorities for action.
Kaan specialises in translating complex evidence into practical decision-making tools for funders and boards. He designs measurement approaches, funding taxonomies, and interactive dashboards that help organisations understand where resources are flowing, what is changing, and where they can make the greatest contribution. His work frequently combines organisational data with national datasets, grantmaking data, and wider sector intelligence to support strategy, evaluation, and field-building efforts.
Alongside his client work, Kaan writes and speaks on philanthropy, systems change, impact measurement, and the application of AI and data science in the impact economy. He is particularly interested in how foundations and philanthropists can use evidence not only to assess impact, but also to better understand and shape the systems in which they operate.
Before joining NPC, Kaan worked in treasury and commodities trading and later served as a Young Impact Leader with Impact Investing Turkey (Etkiyap), where he promoted impact investing and sustainable finance. He holds an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
