Developing an impactful funding strategy
About this event
In a fast‑changing environment, funders need strategies that are both clear and adaptable. This practical seminar will show you how to build (or refresh) your funding strategy.
In this session, we will look at practical tools—such as NPC’s strategy triangle which considers purpose, external context, and internal capabilities—as well as our approach to theory of change for funders.
We will also consider:
- How you can keep your strategy / theory of change alive through an adaptive strategy cycle
- How this affects key aspects of your grant as a grant-maker, including:
- The types of support you provide (e.g. unrestricted vs restricted, grants vs repayable finance)
- How to gather and use evidence effectively
- How this might affect your governance and operations
- How to embed strategy into your work
This session is for leaders and teams at trusts and foundations, corporate funders, and philanthropists, especially those refreshing their strategy or shaping a new portfolio. Grant committee members and trustees are also very welcome.
