We are collating and analysing data that is relevant to the coronavirus outbreak, to help inform the response to this crisis from charities and funders. The data and analysis we have collated and produced allows charities and funders to see some of the places in England that have been most affected by Covid-19.

We have built an interactive dashboard which shows the places currently most affected by Covid-19, underlying risk factors, and charity demand across England. This builds upon our data tables from 10 April which show the people and places across England that were in need of extra support during the peak of the Covid-19 crisis. We want charities and funders to better target their work, by using our interactive dashboard and our data tables from the peak of the crisis to inform their future decisions.

Our analysis of the charity data on our dashboard, provided to us by Turn2us and Buttle UK, shows how recent demand for services has changed across the regions of England, allowing us to better share what charities have been experiencing on the ground. Our analysis of data from official sources, such as the Office for National Statistics, shows which places in England have underlying Covid-19 risk factors—such as age, health, BAME population figures and community deprivation. All of our ongoing analysis of this data, helps indicate which places have a heightened risk of being adversely affected by this crisis and of acutely experiencing the negative economic impact of Covid-19.

We want to keep expanding the range of data available to charities and funders. We can only improve this work through collaboration and with the support of others. Thank you to Turn2us and Buttle UK, who have already provided us with data. If you see the potential of this work and want to get involved, please contact us.
