NPC Ignites 2023

By Emma Casey 28 June 2023 4 minute read

What is the role of charities in politics and policy? Is the social sector doing enough in the places and communities that need them the most?

These are just some of the questions that we’ll be tackling at this year’s NPC Ignites 2023, our annual conference, which brings together the brightest minds in the charity sector to inspire new ways of working. This year, NPC Ignites will take place over two days on 17 (in person or online) and 19 October (online).

Here’s three reasons why you should join us:

1. Hear from the biggest names in our sector

On day one we’ll hear a keynote speech from our very own Chief Executive, Dan Corry, on why politicians should take the charity sector more seriously. Dan will draw from his extensive experience in both the policy making world and the social sector to share his unique insight and perspective. The discussion will continue with Sunder Katwala (Director of British Future) and Rebecca Gill (CEO of ROSA) on our panel on the role of charities in politics and policy. In the afternoon we’ll bring you a keynote speech from Trinh Tu, Managing Director of Public Affairs at Ipsos UK, on what the data tells us about the state of the sector. And we’ll wrap up with a closing presentation from Mike Adamson, CEO of the British Red Cross, sharing his reflections on the sector as he prepares to step down.

On day two we’ll kick off with a presentation from NPC staff on why we need balanced evaluation. The presentation will seek to address the challenges that the social sector faces — as outlined on day one of NPC Ignites 2023. We’ll then hear a panel discussion on innovations in impact and end proceedings with a session exploring the importance of balanced evaluation.

These are just a few of the fantastic speakers we have lined up for you.

2. Learn about the latest sector trends

In the era of permacrisis, our changing landscape means new trends and issues are emerging all the time, and they’re shaping how we operate. NPC Ignites will take a deep dive into the sector’s most burning issues, bringing you up to speed on the latest developments and keeping your fingers on the pulse. We will also be running a Q&A session on improving philanthropy, offering you a chance to put your questions to our panel of experts.

3.Take advantage of our early bird discount

Sign up to NPC Ignites by 31 August 2023 to enjoy a £25 discount. Or you can bring a friend and take advantage of our multi-buy savings.

Don’t forget, we’re able to offer a number of bursary places for small charities, ethnic minority charities of all sizes and ethnic minority representatives from charities of all sizes. To apply for our annual conference bursary places, please contact us.
