About this event

Over the last few decades there has been a data revolution. The arrival of the internet has democratised access to information in a way not seen since the invention of the printing press. However, our insights can only be informed by what is made available and there are still areas that remain murky or even opaque, including philanthropy.

There are people trying to change this in both the US and the UK. Come along to hear from US-based journalist Teddy Shleifer, who writes for Vox about the activities of American billionaires, and UK-based philanthropist Fran Perrin, who founded 360Giving and is a vocal advocate for open philanthropy. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and meet other attendees during the event. It will also be recorded.

Event timing: 12.30 noon EDT / 11.30am CDT / 10.30am MDT / 9.30am PDT

This is the second in a series of events NPC is hosting for funders and philanthropists that compares and contrasts different approaches to philanthropy and grant-making in the US and the UK.
