What young people want you to do about the environmental crises

Join us as we share findings from the Everyone’s Environment programme’s engagement with young people to explore their priorities in tackling the climate and nature crises.

In collaboration with Groundwork, Barnardo’s and Woodcraft Folk, we have spoken with those affected about how the environmental crises and related policy impact young people. In this webinar we will be sharing our findings, discussing what they mean for charities’ strategies, programmes, and advocacy.

This event will be relevant for social and environmental charities, particularly senior leaders, policy leads, those overseeing strategy and programme development. This is part of a series including parallel events relating to Older and Disabled people and people from Ethnic Minority Communities and there are further events coming up that consolidate findings for funders and for trustees.

We recognize that there are many pressures on charities currently, however the climate and nature crises matter to your mission and are an immediate challenge that needs the attention of senior leaders now. Your climate and nature informed action can reduce current and future harm for children and young people, reducing adverse childhood experiences and ensure positive life chances for all. The people you support are affected and their voices need to be heard, including by policy makers.

It can be hard for charities to explore what the environmental crises means for their strategy, programmes and advocacy – which is why the Everyone’s Environment programmes collective findings will help you. Over 50 partners strand together on this journey via the Everyone’s Environment programme. Now more than ever social and environmental charities must operate systemically and collaborate to achieve impact for people and planet – join us if you agree.

Bursary

While this event is free to attend, thanks to funding from Children in Need, we are also able to offer a limited number of reimbursements of £80, to cover time spent attending the event. These are available to young people (<25 years old) and representatives of charities supporting young people. Reimbursements are available on a first come, first served basis, with a maximum of one reimbursed place per organisation. Email us to apply.

Accessibility

We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our online and in-person events. As part of our commitment, for all online events we use live closed captions and upload the recordings to YouTube which has the capability to select subtitles.
